arielle opened the door to starbucks with one hand as her texted a friend in the other. a man with yellow hammer pants edged past her as she walked up the counter to order her usual frappuccino. there wasn't a long line, which was good because she hated waited. she ordered her coffee and the guy who looked about her age disappeared behind to the back to get her coffee. she stood there and examined the small coffee shop. not a lot of people were there, which was understandable because it was almost an hour before school started. the guy came back and she exchanged her two dollars for her frapp, gave a flirty look to the guy and thanked him. she took a seat in the back and took periodical slips of her coffee for the next two minutes.

Corrina walked into Starbucks and was immediately comforted by the smell of coffee beans and the sound of quiet chatter and the clacking of keys on laptops. You could tell it was early morning because anyone who walked in was bustling around to get their coffee and head on their way to work. There were a few angry customers who weren't getting their orders fast enough or the orders were wrong. Corrina walked straight to the counter to order her coffee, by now the line had dissolved.
"Uhh, Cinnamon Dolce Latte." She watched while the guy prepared her drink. He handed her the drink and rang up the price.
"Thanks." She said giving him 3 dollars and grabbing her drink. She took a sip as she turned away to look for someplace to sit. She immediately caught a glimpse of red hair, as the Starbucks was practically empty. She did a double take and realized it was her bestie Ari. Usually they'd already meet in the morning to go to school together but they hadn't planned anything for this morning. She click-clacked over to Arielle.
"Heeeeeey!" She smiled and slid into the booth.

"heeey" arielle heard a person say. she looked up from her phone where she scrolling through the gossip sites for recaps of the VMAs and beyonce's shocking pregnancy announcement. it was her friend, corrina. she smiled, "hey corri." she greeted her as corrina sat down.
"what's up? i feel like we haven't talked all summer." she sipped her coffee, which was almost half empty by now.

"Yeah we kinda lost touch, but it's cool, we can stay in better touch this year. We can walk to school together today." She smiled and yanked her purse up into the seat next to her.

cosette pushed open the clear glass doors, the smell of coffee beans
and espresso filled her nostrils. that's what she loved about starbucks.
it always smelled nice. if they came out with a room re-freshener,
she'd totally buy it for her bedroom. cosette went up to the counter,
digging in her handbag for a couple of bucks to spend on a nice, warm,
caramel macchiato. she handed it to the person at the counter
and sure enough she got her drink. she smiled at them. "thanks!"
she turned around on the heels of her jimmy choo shoes and saw arielle
and corrina already huddled at a table. at least she would have some
company while she had her drink. cosette put on a smile and walked
over to them, feeling a bit anxious for their reactions to take a seat.
what if they just wanted to catch up with each other or something?
like, no interruptions? cosette decided to be rude anyways and
spoke.
"hey girls. mind if i join?" she asked with a socialite smile.
they both looked the same as always. arielle with her flaming red hair
and corrina with her curled, caramel hair and matching skin.
though, cosette being the a little bit vain girl she was, thought she
looked better than her pals. but of course, she wouldn't announce
it out loud. no way no how.

"glad i wore flats today, i don't think i could walk all the way to school in my regular heels." arielle took a slip of her coffee. "oh, but don't worry, my driver could pick us up everyday if you want. i haven't gotten my license yet." she flicked a piece of artificial red hair out of her face. she had just dyed it the night before and it took her more than two bottles. it was hard work to keep her hair this bright of a red color but it was worth it.
"i don't know my classes exactly, i haven't even looked at my schedule since they sent it to my house. i like to think school doesn't exist til the first day." she always partied till the last day of summer. who wouldn't though? it always depressing having to wake up the same time as the birds do and dragging herself to school.
she say cosette out of the corner of her eye, who she hadn't seen since school let out three mouths ago either. she should really keep up with her friends while she went on vacations. "of course you can join us." cosette was wearing a green dress and looked nice but a little to dressed up for school. she shrugged. that's how everybody dressed around here.

C o r r i n a ♥ looked up to see Cosette staring her up and down. She was friends with Cosette, but Cosette thought she was all that and liked to talk alot of smack so they weren't very close. Corrina trusted her as far as she could throw her. The girl needed some type of churchin' and right now she needed jesus with that hideous dress she had on. Corrina didn't bother to budge, Cosette could sit by Ari.

cosette felt self-conscious as she stood there. corrina had this hostile
air around her, but arielle seemed perfectly fine and friendly. what was
corri's problem? she mentally shook it off and didn't let it bother her.
maybe she needed her coffee in the mornings and was crabby. "thank
you, ari." she took an empty seat beside arielle, since corrina seemed
to be guarding that side of the table. cosette opened her drink and took a
sip.
"did you guys have a nice summer?" she said conversationally. she was
depending on small chat. the air didn't feel right enough to go into giggles
and shits with them. it was to test the water. she took another sip
of her macchiato. feeling her iphone vibrate in her purse, but not taking
it out to be polite.

arielle watched the awk exchange between cosette and corrina. corri didn't seem too into having cosette sitting next to her so cosette took a seat next to her. "did you guys have a nice summer?"she giggled to herself at cosette's attempt at small talk. they've been away from each other way too long.
"good. my parents decided to travel everywhere this summer. i meet a couple of cute guys, and i mostly partied." she answered, most of her summer flashed through her head. it was pretty fucking awesome. "sorry i didn't call or anything by the way, i was just so wrapped up in everything." she took a long slipped of her coffee.
"oh! we HAVE to go to barbados sometime. they party crazy over there."

arden walked into the dimly lit starbucks, wanting more than anything to get some coffee to get rid of her killer headache. she pushed past a crowd of people who were hovering at the door and walked up to the counter. "large columbian blend. black. no frills." she threw a ten on the counter and looked around for anyone she may know. she spotted corrina, arielle, and cosette, a group of girls she knew from school, but other than that, the place was full of old people getting their morning fix. she diverted her attention back to the barista making her coffee, who was currently moving at the slowest rate possible. "do you want me to come back there and fucking make it myself? jesus." ard wasn't in the mood to wait around for her coffee today. she had a mission. get in. and get out.

her french manicured finger, listening to what arielle and her family
did this summer. she nodded and smiled. "it's fine. i didn't exactly
go out of my way to contact you either, which i should have."
cos pursed her lips and looked over towards corrina. "how about you,
corrina? how was your summer?" maybe corrina would stop the
frostiness if she fought ice with good, kind fire.
she noticed a girl with straight blonde hair and a boyish look to her
walk into the place, practically throwing a bitch fit over the service.
cosette raised her eyebrow and turned her attention back to her table.
"rude, much?" she said under her breath. cosette waved it off, "anyways,
barbados sounds lovely. but a party? with people we know?" she knitted her
eyebrows. "not everyone is able to go on a plane and go to an island for
just a party." cosette thought logically. it wouldn't be much
of a party if no one was able to show up. "well, i guess it depends
when we want the party."
cosette noticed corrina checking her phone, but realized she was only
checking the time. cos was on the a game with the time, also. she hated
being late. fashionably late was okay, but to academic engagements?
as fucking if! this star student wasn't about to get her first tardy
of the year. be real, now. "you guys have your schedules?"

C o r r i n a ♥ pulled her folded schedule from her LV bag. She unfolded it and noticed a pink lip print in the corner where she had blotted her lipstick.She read off the names of her teachers and the classes and bells she had them for.
